The story itself was entertaining, a little angsty, but something was missing. Gideon's problems were resolved too quickly to be believable. He was horribly tortured and had an understandable deep aversion to being touched. I find it odd that as horribly tortured that he was, why there were no scars at all on his face. I am OK with that :) just makes the story less believable. Didn't they pull teeth back in the days of torture? eh, what do I know? But even with all that, I did love Gideon, he was the whole redeeming factor for the whole story.
Charis the heroine in this story was just so 2 dimensional. I can't say I liked her or didn't like her. She was just there.
