Just when I think I am finished with vampires and PNR.. I keep telling myself this is not a genre that I like, but here I am preparing myself to extol the awesomeness of this book. ~ sigh ~ Who am I kidding? I must love PNR.
What I loved about this book:
* Written in first person. Now I know a lot of people hate that, but I prefer it so long as it is written well and this book meets that criteria. I love not being able to "hear" what everyone in the story is thinking. It adds to a story, makes it more interesting when you have to guess along with the narrator by "reading" the body language and nuances of the personality.
Some of my favorites written in this style:
Outlander seriesMercedes Thompson series All of Kristen Higgins books* Cat.. she was just an awesome kick ass heroine! She was very confused and rash about her feelings towards Bones and vampires in general. But her confusion and nasty defensiveness were made completely understandable by the way she was treated by her mother.
* Bones.. well, I don't even have word for him. I wanted to HATE him in the beginning when he kept beating up Cat.. I mean REALLY! But oh, he was ummmm yeah he was. When he stood in the middle of the road, blocking the car Cat was in. OMG!
I wasn't thrilled with the ending, well being a cliffhanger of sorts, but lucky for me there are quite a few books to this series, so I won't have to wait to move on with this series!
